Get to Know Me
My Background
I am currently pursuing my Master’s in Instructional Design and Technology (expected graduation December 2026). I have a Bachelor’s in Sociology and Psychology. Having a background in understanding how individuals think and behave in both individual and group settings is helpful for applying to adult-centered learning.
I started as a Subject Matter Expert in federal national training programs. I soon learned about principles I had been applying, just hadn’t known the name, like ADDIE and the Kirkpatrick Evaluation Models, and that there was a school of learning behind what I was doing on my own. I took the initiative to learn as much as I could about the many aspects of the instructional design role, from design to development to evaluation. I began learning Articulate StoryLine, audio recordings, video recordings, and how to incorporate photography.
In this process, I met a student who used an assistive reader computer. In working with her, I began to develop a greater appreciation for WCAG and digital accessibility. I saw the impact of making training accessible, not just in the idea of it, but in how it made a difference to my life. It’s life. Since working with this student, I began learning more about WCAG and IAAP certifications to master this and teach others. I now focus on developing training specifically targeted at teaching digital accessibility and ensuring that organizations understand how to meet requirements and make small changes with a big impact.
What Matters To Me
My passion is to bring insight and think of all possible options to a problem as we work together to develop the solution. I am empowered by considering all possible problems when determining how best to solve a problem.
It means building programs that help teams perform and communicate with confidence.
It also means creating training that shifts organizational behavior for the better.
I also love traveling, reading great romantic comedies, exceptional coffee, and singing to 2000’s pop music.
